21-year-old man murdered in Dhayari by friends following a minor argument; five detainees

Pune police have arrested five suspects for the murder of their 21-year-old friend following a minor argument while he was dining at a bar in Dhayari area on Sunday, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Aditya Ghorpade, 21, resident of Dhayari Phata.

According to police, Ghorpade and five of his friends went to a bar where they consumed alcohol and ate. During dinner, an argument broke out between Ghorpade and Akash Pardeshi over eating food from each other’s plate. Amid the arguments, Pardeshi left the restaurant.

While returning home, Ghorpade was intercepted by Pardeshi and four others who brutally attacked him with wooden sticks and stones. Ghorpade was seriously injured and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Police officials said that as per the complaint filed by the deceased’s mother Rajashree Gorphade, 43, they had lodged a complaint at the Sinhgad Road police station.
