New Durham man arrested after shots fired during unrest

NEW DURHAM — A local man was arrested Tuesday evening following a disturbance involving shots fired, according to New Hampshire State Police.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, when troopers from Troop A Barracks were dispatched to a residence on Quaker Road.

Upon arrival, they discovered that an argument between two individuals had escalated, leading one of them, identified as James Robinson, 29, of New Durham, to fire several shots with several firearms.

Robinson was arrested without further incident and faces three counts of reckless driving, felony theft by unauthorized taking, as well as citations for criminal trespass and unauthorized use of a firearm.

Following his failure to post bail, Robinson is currently being held at the Strafford County Department of Corrections.

He is expected to be arraigned in Rochester District Court today, October 23.

State Police were supported at the scene by the Belknap County Sheriff’s Department as well as several local police and fire departments.
