Mohali: accused of cheating, director of a real estate company detained at Hyd airport

The accused were identified as Tejinder Singh Bhatia and his wife Paramjot Kaur, who was arrested while flying abroad; Punjab Police yet to make any official arrest

More than three months after the Sohana police registered a case of cheating and forgery against two directors of Aeropolis Infrastructure Private Limited and Sukham Infrastructure Private Limited, one of them was arrested at the airport on Saturday ‘Hyderabad as she was about to board a flight abroad.

Police had arrested Tejinder Singh Bhatia and his wife, Paramjot Kaur, on July 6 following a complaint filed by Panchkula-based businessman Anshul Singla. The Punjab Police are yet to make a formal arrest.

A senior police officer said, “We will initiate the procedure and take him to Mohali. » Singla filed a complaint in June against the couple and other company executives. According to the investigation report, the complainant wanted to purchase land in Mohali. For this, he met the couple in 2019, who police said were joint directors of the two companies, alongside Yellow Stone Private Limited.

The complainant, a partner of Ornay Builders and Promoters, LLP, entered into a contract of sale with the accused for the purchase of a total of 51,624 square meters of land in Kambala village and Kambali in sectors 66 and 66-A, Mohali, for 77.95 million in 2019.

The complainant had paid 11.11 lakh as a token amount. He claimed the defendants were supposed to develop the project and deliver the recording within three years, but they failed to do so. Bhatia also allegedly changed the development plan of the project and sold the plots in question to other companies and clients without informing the complainant.

The accused have been booked under sections 406, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC. Company officials could not be reached for comment.
