Punjab government changes school timings amid rising air pollution

The Punjab government has issued guidelines to change school timings to protect children and school staff from increasing air pollution in the province.

According to the Department of Environmental Protection, schools in Punjab will now open after 8:45 am from the 28th of this month to January 31, 2025.

Meanwhile, provincial minister Marriyum Aurangzeb advised citizens to wear masks, avoid unnecessary travel and comply with the strict ban on fireworks.

She urged the public to report smoke-related violations to the 1373 hotline number.
