Fire displaces four people in Santa Rosa

A fire Friday evening at an apartment complex on Santa Rosa Avenue displaced four families, authorities said.

The fire at Redwood Apartments, in the 3000 block of Santa Rosa Avenue, was reported around 9:30 p.m. Friday, said Karen Hancock, a spokeswoman for the Sonoma County Fire District.

The first fire truck arrived on scene at 9:35 p.m., from Station 4 in Bellevue, she said.

The fire started in a balcony closet on the second floor of the three-story complex, Hancock said.

The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage, but did not extend to residential areas, although they did sustain some water damage.

No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation, Hancock said.
