Bayville resident pleads guilty to evading charges

oms River, NJ – Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced David Lemmon’s guilty plea to escape charges on October 7, before Judge Kenneth T. Palmer.

The plea is related to an incident that occurred on November 8, 2023 in Manchester Township. The state plans to recommend a sentence of five years in New Jersey State Prison at sentencing on January 10, 2025.

The November 8, 2023 incident was part of a narcotics investigation conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force. Detectives observed Lemmon driving with John McDaniel, 47, of Toms River. Their vehicle was followed from Ocean County to Trenton and back. As police attempted a traffic stop on Ridgeway Road in Manchester Township, Lemmon fled recklessly at a high speed, forcing officers to end the pursuit out of concern for public safety.

McDaniel was later seen by Lakehurst police walking on Railroad Avenue and was arrested. He faces charges including possession of heroin with intent to distribute, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. After being taken to the Ocean County Jail,

  • Baltimore Police Arrest Suspect in Homicide Case

    Baltimore, MD – The Baltimore Police Department announced the arrest of Uriah Cunningham, 31, in connection with the fatal shooting of Melvin Rogers, 43. The arrest was made on Saturday by Central District officers.

    Investigators suspect Cunningham shot Rogers on Sept. 29 in the 1800 block of Wilhelm Street. An alert from Shot Spotter technology initially directed officers to the scene around 11:17 p.m. the night of the crime.

    When officers arrived, they found Rogers suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported by doctors to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

    Cunningham was charged with first-degree murder and additional charges. He is currently being held at the central reservation reception center. The investigation is ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to contact homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.

  • Fatal motorcycle crash under investigation in Prince George’s County

    Largo, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit has launched an investigation into a fatal motorcycle collision. Samuel Hinton, a 40-year-old Waldorf resident, was identified as the crash victim.

    Around 12:55 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the scene of a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan on Pennsylvania Avenue and Donnell Drive. When emergency responders arrived, they pronounced Hinton dead at the scene.

    The driver of the sedan involved in the collision was not injured and remained at the scene of the accident. The cause of the collision remains to be determined as the investigation progresses.
