Barricaded person in Myrtle Beach arrested, police say

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach authorities had to evacuate residents from a Myrtle Beach neighborhood after a person barricaded themselves Friday afternoon.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department said officers responded to the 2000 block of Greens Boulevard just after 1:30 p.m. Police had attempted to arrest a wanted person when he fled and barricaded himself.

The police then evacuated residents from neighboring houses.

Shortly before 5:15 p.m., MBPD provided an update that the person had been arrested. No further details were immediately available.
