1 person arrested for marijuana trafficking in Baldwin County

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – A 34-year-old man is behind bars on multiple charges in Baldwin County after a vehicle pursuit led to a drug arrest, authorities said.

Deputies said Maurice Sanford led authorities on a short chase on U.S. 98 Friday. The chase ended in the Aaronville community of Foley. Authorities say officers found 7 pounds of marijuana in Sanford’s vehicle.

Sanford faces felony charges of escape and marijuana trafficking.

Authorities said Sanford could have additional gun-related charges added.
