Albany man pleads not guilty in Menands shooting

An Albany man has pleaded not guilty in the Menands shooting.

Zacceus Cancer, 24, is accused of shooting a 35-year-old man on September 7 around 4:30 p.m. in the area of ​​Exit 6 and Broadway. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cancer was arraigned Thursday morning in Albany County Court on charges of attempted murder, attempted assault, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Cancer is also charged with possession of cocaine.

Cancer was remanded to the Albany County Jail and is due back in court on November 22.
