Latest US elections: Leaked memo shows Trump in trouble in key states | US News

In the Middle East, the conflict between Israel and Iran is coming at noon: a ballistic missile confrontation could be in the offing or perhaps something more asymmetric and covert.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decides how to respond to multiple rocket attacks carried out by Iran on October 1 this year.

But the plan is shrouded in secrecy.

Sources told Sky’s US partner NBC that the Israelis were focused on projects to target military and energy infrastructure.

A strike on Iranian oil facilities could have massive repercussions well beyond the Middle East, both economic and political.

Attack on Iran could improve Trump’s chances

Rising oil prices could in turn lead to a sharp rise in pump prices in the United States in the final weeks before the presidential election, which could improve Donald Trump’s re-election chances – an outcome that M .Netanyahu would welcome.

But for now, the Israelis are leaving the world uncertain about when and exactly how they will strike Iran.

The deployment of the defense system can provide clues

A development can give clues about the timeline. President Joe Biden announced Sunday that the United States will send Israel another advanced ballistic missile defense system, known as THAAD.

The system will provide Israel with invaluable additional protection if Iran retaliates again.

THAAD requires 95 soldiers to operate by battery. This means that Americans are on the ground in Israel for the first time in this war.

As frustrated as the Biden administration may be with the Netanyahu government on a range of fronts, militarily it continues to stand by its ally.
