New Details on Incident That Killed Perryton Deputy Fire Chief and Injured 2

PERRYTON, Texas (KFDA) – Authorities have released new details about the incident that left Perryton Deputy Fire Chief Scott Glass dead and two firefighters injured.

Deputy Chief Glass, along with other firefighters, responded to a residential fire Thursday.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, while members were installing a water system, a vehicle drove over the pipe, blowing a fitting, causing three firefighters to fall to the ground.

Deputy Chief Glass suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to Northwest Texas Health System in Amarillo.

He died on Sunday from his injuries.

Volunteer firefighter Thomas Beal suffered a broken arm and other fractures. He was transported to an area hospital and released over the weekend.

Volunteer firefighter Jacob Anderson was treated and released with minor injuries.

Area fire departments continue to assist with emergency response services in Perryton this week.
