3 teens arrested in Greenville on 88 charges, including car theft

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – Greenville police said three teenagers were arrested on a total of 88 charges, including car theft.

Police were called to the scene on Fairforest Way regarding individuals breaking into cars on Wednesday October 2.

Officers closed the exits to attempt to locate the individuals once they arrived on scene. They found the first stolen vehicle still running, but the suspects fled in a second stolen vehicle, police said.

According to police, the second vehicle was found after hitting a tree and witnesses reported that the individuals fled in a third stolen vehicle.

After patrolling the area, an officer heard a car alarm along Cavalier Drive and then saw an individual rushing between parked vehicles toward the stolen vehicle.

After a brief chase, police said two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old were arrested.

They face the following charges:

  • Failure to stop at blue lights
  • Possession of a stolen vehicle
  • Interfere with the police
  • Hit and run
  • Automatic break
  • Car theft
  • Malicious damage
  • Conspiracy
