Pro-Trump Fox News Host Removes MAGA Lie About Harris

Fox News’ Sean Hannity has deleted a social media post accusing Kamala Harris of using a teleprompter during a town hall.

Donald Trump supporters, including his billionaire backer Bill Ackman, spread the false claim after Harris attended the Univision event Thursday night. Hannity removed X’s post after it was viewed more than 200,000 times by people on the site owned by another Trump-supporting billionaire, X CEO Elon Musk.

“This would not have happened in 2016 or 2020. We monitor them closely, watch for lies and denounce them immediately. » Trump critic Ron Filipkowski posted to X with a photo showing that Hannity’s post had been deleted.

The lie continued to spread in right-wing circles online despite attempts by many people at Univision to correct the facts.

Daniel Coronell, president of Univision, wrote:

“That’s not true. The teleprompter which displays text written in Spanish was a support element for the town hall moderator. I can tell you this with full knowledge, because I was responsible for the television program.

Moderator Enrique Acevedo also tried to intervene to put an end to this false narrative.

“The teleprompter showed my introduction (in Spanish), then it went to a timer. Any claim to the contrary is simply false,” Acevedo wrote on X.
