A grandmother heroically saved her seven-year-old granddaughter from a speeding car in Massachusetts by pushing her out of the way.

Louise Ward, 69, from Stoneham, and her granddaughter Riley were crossing the street around 8.45pm on Saturday with the family dog ​​when she noticed a car heading towards them.

“She pushed me so I could get back to where cars couldn’t hit me on the way,” she told WCVB. “I wasn’t hit, but my grandmother was.”

After the hit-and-run, Riley began screaming and raising her hands for help until someone “stopped and helped me,” she told the outlet.

Ward was taken to the hospital with multiple bone fractures, but will make a full recovery.

Dirks is now encouraging anyone with information about the driver to come forward or turn themselves in.

“Look within, really think and take the opportunity to do the right thing now. Surrender. You are going to be found. There are images everywhere,” she told WCVB.

Detective Sergeant Chris Dalis told DailyMail.com that he is “still reviewing video from surrounding streets/houses and businesses but has had no luck so far” and is not there is “unfortunately no new information”.
