Contractor pleads not guilty to defrauding Guilderland doctor out of $60,000

A Wynantskill contractor accused of stealing from a Guilderland medical office was arraigned Tuesday morning in Albany County Court.

John Weigel has pleaded not guilty to fraud charges.

The victim, Dr. Jose David, previously told NewsChannel 13 his practice was out of $60,000. David said he paid Weigel to renovate two floors, but it was never done.

Weigel was released on probation, which the judge said could be revoked at any time if he violates those conditions.

He is due back in court on October 29.
