Merritt is a suspect in a shooting at a dollar store in Bellevue on Aug. 28. BPD said officers responding to the Family Dollar near 25th Street and Chandler Road found a 29-year-old man at the scene who had been shot in the leg.

An investigation led police to believe Merritt shot the victim and then fled on foot. According to BPD, Merritt is a black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 130 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Authorities believe he may have cut off his dreadlocks.

Anyone who sees Merritt is asked to refrain from approaching him and immediately call 911. People with information on Merritt’s whereabouts are encouraged to submit a tip through Sarpy County Crime Stoppers. To do so, click here or call 402-593-STOP.
