Accused New York carjacker who slashed police officer’s face in GW Bridge attack faces new charges, officials say

The knife-wielding New York man accused of carjackings in two states and arrested on the George Washington Bridge last week now faces additional charges, the Bergen County District Attorney’s Office announced Saturday .

Uvaldo Gonzalez, 42, of the Bronx, New York, was initially charged with one count of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault and one count of receiving stolen property.

Filed by police Friday, the new charges include armed robbery, carjacking, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, officials said .
