Authorities search for missing boater in Morrison Spring

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – The Walton Sheriff’s Office received a report Sunday of a missing boater from Morrison Springs.

Authorities said Johnathon Smith was reported missing by a friend who had become estranged from him. Smith and his friend reportedly launched their boats together on Friday, October 11.

We’re told Smith is in a blue Jon Boat with a trolling motor and his dog.

WCSO says they are using the Morrison Springs boat ramp to conduct the search. Florida Fish & Wildlife also launched drones and boats to aid in the search.
