Woman pleads guilty to role in dismembering and burning man’s body

BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman has pleaded guilty in Bradford County Court to her involvement in the dismemberment and burning of a man’s body in March 2024.

Summer Lynn Heil, 37, of Harrisburg, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of hindering apprehension. She initially faced several misdemeanor charges for helping Ronda and Terry Parker cover up the death of Michael Pruitt, according to the Bradford County prosecutor.

As part of Heil’s plea deal, she will testify against the Parkers.

“During the plea proceeding, Heil acknowledged that she played no role in the murder of Michael Pruitt, which is consistent with all evidence presented at previous hearings,” noted District Attorney Richard Wilson. “However, Heil added some important testimony during her plea proceedings, confirming that she saw two guns in Terry Parker’s Harrisburg apartment shortly before the murders,” Wilson added.

Wilson noted that this is important because previous testimony suggested that Pruitt was
killed with antique revolvers found in Terry Parker’s apartment.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on March 8, Pruitt was shot twice by Terry at Ronda’s home on Sawyer Road in Springfield Township, Bradford County.

State police said Terry and Ronda drove from Springfield Township to Harrisburg with the body in the car. According to text messages, they ate ice cream with the children while Pruitt’s body was in the car.

Heil, Terry’s girlfriend at the time, joined the couple when they returned to Bradford County.

According to state police, Heil and Terry worked to dismember Pruitt’s body and burn it, while Ronda worked to clean up the interior of the home.

Heil is expected to be sentenced in December.
