Rochester man pleads guilty to secretly recording underage victim in shower

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A Rochester man faces prison time after secretly recording a minor in the shower.

In February 2021, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Gregory Brooks, 53, secretly placed a video camera in a bathroom where he knew an underage person was taking a shower and positioned the camera to capture her entering and coming out of the shower.

Between February 2021 and August 31, 2023, Brooks received and stored the child pornography videos taken by his cell phone camera.

Brooks pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography and will face five to 20 years in prison and an additional $250,000 fine.

Sentencing is scheduled for February 6.
