New York Jets player Haason Reddick faces a lawsuit from a business partner who alleges he withheld money from sales at a senior home care business in which they had invested, according to Abraham Gutman of Philadelphia Investigator.

Micah Khan said in the suit that he was entitled to more than $1.6 million based on a deal he made with Reddick in 2021.

Reddick has retained Khan’s Kingdom Health Services to manage marketing and business development for Haven Home Health Services. Khan claimed the company was “operating at a loss with zero patients,” according to Gutman, and subsequently found firmer financial footing. Haven was sold for $3.25 million in April.

In addition to not paying Khan, the plaintiff alleges that Raymond Matthews, Reddick’s father, provided “security” during a meeting about Reddick’s compliance with his end of their agreement.

“Mr. Matthews brought more than a dozen men in black gloves to a business meeting, claiming they were ‘Haason’s personal security,'” Khan said in court documents. “It was at this post-sales meeting that Mr Matthews made it clear that they intended to default on their payment obligations to the UK.”

Ross Wolfe, Khan’s attorney, released a statement after the suit was filed.

“Mr. Reddick’s accolades as a professional athlete in Philadelphia, however, do not relieve him of his contractual obligations to my client,” he said, according to Gutman. “The work done for Haven Home Health Agency demonstrates how Mr. Khan supports his family.”

Representatives for Reddick have not yet commented on the matter.

The two-time Pro Bowler continues to pursue a new deal with the Jets. He did not appear in a single game for the team following his offseason trade to the Philadelphia Eagles. A one-season wait would mean losing nearly $21.8 million in total revenue.

In a media call following the firing of head coach Robert Saleh, Jets owner Woody Johnson said the team remains open to Reddick’s arrival.

The saga took another turn, however, when Creative Artists Agency reportedly dropped Reddick as a client this week.
