“The facts of this case are certainly strange”; man pleads guilty to crime

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) – A 67-year-old Wyoming County man pleaded guilty after the Wyoming County Prosecutor said he attempted to commit a crime.

Prosecutors say Tommy Ray Wilson, 67, of Kopperston, entered a home in Oceana and took a set of keys. The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of a stolen vehicle and the witness told the officer that Wilson entered her home without permission and took a set of keys belonging to her father.

The prosecutor said Wilson took the vehicle and later claimed he planned to return the vehicle after he got married.

Wilson is scheduled to be sentenced on November 19 and faces up to 1 to 3 years in custody by the Department of Corrections.
