Toreke Barbour, 31, faces up to seven years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a firearm as a convicted felon and brandishing a firearm.

Barbour was taken into custody on September 16 after Charlottesville police responded to a reported threat near the City Hall Annex building in the city’s Downtown Mall, next to the hotel city.

“Officers and detectives responded quickly and located a suspect in the area,” police said in a statement later in the day. “This individual, Toreke Barbour of Charlottesville, was arrested and charged at the scene and a firearm was discovered on his person.”
