Multi-county agency race ends in Mogadore

MOGADORE, Ohio (WOIO) – A vehicle pursuit in Portage County ended in Mogadore Wednesday afternoon.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol in a chase that began in Mahoning County, according to officials.

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed the pursuit entered Portage County via I-76 and the Portage Aggressive Crime Unit (PACE) located the car in Suffield Township.

Deputies confirmed the PACE unit pursued the car through Suffield Township, Hartville, Brimfield Township and Mogadore, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph.

Stop sticks were successfully deployed by a deputy in Mogadore, officials said, puncturing the driver’s side front tire.

The suspect vehicle did not stop despite the flat tire, authorities said, and a PIT maneuver was used to end the pursuit.

Deputies confirmed the chase ended at South Cleveland Avenue and Albrecht Avenue.
