Jake Paul breaks boxing’s unspoken rule with controversial workout video ahead of Mike Tyson fight

Boxing fans are calling on Mike Tyson to teach Jake Paul a lesson in their fight next month after the YouTuber sparked controversy by sharing footage of his training sessions online.

Jake Paul caused a stir when he posted a video of himself knocking down one of his sparring partners, breaking an unspoken rule of boxing.

Paul is currently training for his highly anticipated meeting with Mike Tyson, which takes place next month. The match was originally scheduled for this summer but did not take place because Tyson developed an inflamed ulcer and needed to rest.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world has returned to training but has barely shared any videos of his sessions since returning to the gym. However, Paul has kept his followers updated and recently posted a video on his social media account showing him knocking down his training partner, DeAndre Savage.

Savage, a heavyweight, won six of his eight professional fights, stopping his opponents each time. His other two matches were declared a no contest, one due to an injury to his opponent and the other after an accidental hit, which led to a premature termination in his last outing.

However, in sharing the video, Paul ignored the generally accepted boxing code, saying what happens during sparring stays in the gym. In 2016, Chris Eubank Jr. was criticized by his future opponent, Nick Blackwell, for posting a video of himself knocking out one of his training partners.

“He put a video on social media for the world to see of him knocking out a kid who hasn’t even had a professional fight, and it’s disgusting,” Blackwell remarked. “The young amateur is building his confidence and trying to learn from a so-called professional, but somehow Eubank Jr is proud to exploit him this way.”

Boxing fans were less than thrilled with Paul’s video. One commented: “He was a horrible sparring partner,” while another said: “He’s in for a rude awakening if he compares this guy to Tyson.”

Another remarked: “Big Mike is going to take his brother’s head off” – and yet another was equally scathing, saying: “This guy had no head movement, one of Mike’s best attributes. “
