These days, even sports bloggers are not safe from political threats

This postcard arrived in the mail last week. Read the message on the back and tell me it’s not a threat:

Sounds like voter intimidation if you ask me! “…if you vote is public domain,” writes Megan. Yeah? Well, what are you going to do if I don’t vote, MEGAN? Are you going to publish a list of sports bloggers who didn’t vote? And then what to do with the list, make us feel guilty? Ring a bell while crying”shame, shame, shame» as we walk down the sidewalk to the Wells Fargo Center? Are we going to Grover Norquist’s black book for future bullying?

“Megan,” or whoever that person is, can go pound sand. Come tell me to my face, MEGAN. The postcard links to the Pennsylvania voter information page, but it was sent from Oakland, so I’m going to go ahead and assume they want me to vote for Kamala, since the Bay Area isn’t exactly the country of Trump. Remember, when people tell you it’s your responsibility to vote, what they really mean is that it’s your responsibility to vote for their candidate. Before we know it, they’ll be bringing Puff Daddy back for a “vote or die” cover.

I feel like it’s a nothing burger, like you throw it in the trash and move on, but at the same time it annoys me. “Take care of your businesswoman,” as the late DMX once said in the Ruff Ryders anthem. Is this what it means to be a Karen? Put these people in prison.

Disclaimer: This is not a political post. Crossing Broad is not a political website and does not endorse any particular political party or candidate. the only reason we had Governor Shapiro on the podcast is because he’s a Philly sports fan
