Super Eagles test: Former Libyan star slams European media for supporting Nigeria

Former Libyan midfielder Moatasem Al-Musrati has slammed European media for the manner in which they reported the Super Eagles’ ordeal in the country.

The Super Eagles were subjected to inhumane treatment by Libyan authorities upon their arrival in the country on Sunday for the fourth day match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The contingent was stranded at Al Abaq airport for several hours before returning to Nigeria on Monday evening.

In a post on his Facebook page, Al-Musrati claimed that several European media outlets had broadcast a very misleading and incomplete story.

The Besiktas star claimed the Libyans were also poorly treated by the hosts when they arrived in Uyo via Port Harcourt last week.

The match initially scheduled for this evening has been postponed by CAF.
