Several people shot in ‘tragic scene’ in Washington state

Several people were found shot to death in a “tragic scene” at a home in a small town in Washington state early Monday, authorities said.

Cops made the grim discovery after responding to multiple 911 calls about a shooting at the home in the Seattle suburb of Fall City just before 5 a.m., King5 reported.

Authorities have not yet said how many bodies were found on the property or whether anyone else was injured.

King County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Mike Mellis said only that authorities encountered a “tragic scene” and were investigating multiple homicides.

He said the killings were possibly linked to a domestic violence incident and there was no ongoing threat to the community.

“I can say this is going to be a really tragic event for the community, for anyone who has a connection here,” he said. “This is going to affect a lot of people.”

It was not immediately clear whether a suspect had been taken into custody.

The investigation, which the sheriff’s office described as “extensive,” was still ongoing and other agencies had been called in to assist.

“The implication is that this is an important scene that is going to take a lot of expertise and a lot of time,” Mellis said.

Fall City, located about 30 miles from Seattle, is a waterfront town of about 2,000 people.
