31-year-old man stabbed on 63rd Street early Friday morning

PHILADELPHIA — A 31-year-old man was fatally stabbed early Friday morning in the 200 block of North 63rd Street, authorities said. The incident happened around 5:24 a.m., when the victim was assaulted and stabbed once in the abdomen.

Police responded to the scene and transported the man to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 5:57 a.m., according to authorities. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

No arrests were made and no weapons were recovered. The scene remains under police control as detectives continue to search for evidence.

The Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
