Former ’80s action hero Bruce Willis was spotted taking a trip to Los Angeles this week.

The Die Hard star, 69, was photographed in a car with his bodyguards as they drove around the city on a sunny October day.

The actor retired in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

As his health became public, the Sixth Sense star retreated from the spotlight, with his ex Demi Moore and current wife Emma Heming Willis providing regular updates on his health.

The actor has been seen around Los Angeles in recent months, usually relaxing in the passenger seat while bodyguards chauffeur him around town.

Willis was photographed cruising the streets with his head buried under a black baseball cap.

Ex-wife Demi, 61, has previously provided an update on Bruce’s condition. “Illness is what illness is. And I think you really have to deeply accept what that means,” Demi said at a festival event, People reports.

“But where he is, he’s stable. What I always encourage is just meeting them where they are. When we cling to what was, I think it’s a losing game. But when we come to meet them where they are, it is a great beauty and a great sweetness.

Bruce and Demi share three children from their marriage, which lasted from 1987 to 2000.

As well as their daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Talullah, 30, Bruce has two other daughters with his current wife Emma – Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.

Rumer recently said her father was “doing great” while chatting with E! News. “I saw it like the other day, right before I left and we all had to go, and it was so wonderful,” she shared.

Earlier this year, Rumer shared sweet images of Bruce bonding with his granddaughter Louetta.

In the footage, Bruce proudly cuddled the one-year-old on Mother’s Day.

‘Oh girl. Being your mom is the biggest hurt in the world. You are everything to me. Becoming a mother has been the portal I always knew and yet so much more than I ever imagined,” Rumer said in the lengthy caption.

“Having you grow in my belly and watching you grow this past year has been the privilege of my life, my tender, strong, hilarious, fiery and wild little child, you and the sweetest and most loving being that I ‘ve never known.

Rumer continued, “It’s such a gift to be loved by you and I know I’m not the only one who feels it. Everyone who meets you is completely smitten by you and can’t believe how much you are magical. I know there can be difficult times, but somehow with you they are never too difficult.

“I never get tired of hugging you, kissing you, or comforting you. You will always be my baby. And what a joy it already feels to see you grow.

The tender moment came after Emma hit out at claims the actor’s life had become “joyless” since his dementia diagnosis.

“It’s Sunday morning and I’m triggered. I just got hacked. I’m just scrolling down, minding my own business, and I just saw a headline — and I got clicked on — that was about my own family,” she said in a post on Instagram.

“Basically the title says there is no more joy in my husband. Now I can just tell you that this is far from the truth. I need society, and whoever writes these stupid headlines, to stop scaring people.

She continued: “(People will think) once they’re diagnosed with some sort of neuro-cognitive illness, it’s over, it’s over.” Let’s pack our bags. Nothing else to see here. We are finished. No, it’s quite the opposite.
