Kamala Harris’ doctor releases her medical report containing details about her lifestyle and diet

Kamala Harris received a health briefing from her doctor, who gave her insight into the vice president’s lifestyle and diet, ahead of the 2024 election.

Harris’ physician, Dr. Joshua R. Simmons, said in a letter that the Democratic nominee is in “excellent health” and could withstand the test of the presidency if elected in November.

“She possesses the physical and mental resilience required to successfully execute the duties of the presidency, including those of chief executive, head of state and commander in chief.”

It said the vice president, 59, maintains a good lifestyle, including “vigorous daily aerobic exercise and basic strength training” and eats a “very healthy diet.”

The politician also renounces the use of tobacco and only drinks “occasionally and in moderation”.

As for physical ailments, Harris suffers from myopia, which is corrected by contact lenses, allergies and hives, also called hives. Her allergies and hives are controlled with over-the-counter medications, including Allegra, and allergen immunotherapy, which she has been doing for three years, according to Simmons.

The only notable blimp in her health record concerns her family history of colon cancer on her mother’s side, but Simmons assured the vice president was aware of her colonoscopy results, as well as her mammograms.

“She has no personal history of diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, lung disease, neurological disorders, cancer or osteoporosis,” Simmons wrote.

The only surgery the Democrat underwent was a laparotomy that was performed to remove her appendix at age three due to intussusception, a condition in which part of the intestine, usually the small one, slips out in an adjacent part of the gastrointestinal tract.

The only medication listed for Harris was a vitamin D3 supplement for “skeletal health” because she is deficient, her blood tests showed.

The rest of Harris’ blood tests came back “unremarkable,” along with his electrocardiogram, also known as an EKG, which came back normal.

Her last medical examination was performed in April 2024 by Simmons, who has been her primary care physician since she took over as vice president 3.5 years ago.

The last time Trump updated Americans on his overall health was in November, on President Joe Biden’s birthday, where the Republican’s doctor bragged in a letter about his condition “excellent” health.

The letter, posted on Trump’s social media platform, contained no details to support his claims — measurements such as weight, blood pressure and cholesterol levels, or the results of any test.

Trump’s doctor also provided an update on his health following the July assassination attempt, in which the 78-year-old suffered an ear injury.

Trump sharply questioned Biden’s health when the 81-year-old president was seeking re-election. Since Biden was replaced by Harris, Trump’s health has attracted more attention.
