Lala Kent celebrates her sober birthday with Ocean, Sosa and Scheana

Lala Kent has officially been sober for six years! THE Vanderpump Rules the actor was SO open to sharing her journey to sobriety and giving up alcohol and continues to do so as she marks her latest milestone.

Lala took to her Instagram feed on Tuesday, October 22, where she posted a photo sitting on the couch surrounded by her two children: daughter Ocean Kent Emmett, 3, and daughter Sosa Kent, 1 month. In the photo, Lala can be seen wearing a casual t-shirt, with no makeup on her face and her hair down with her two children by her side.

Lala took to the caption of the post, where she expressed her gratitude for achieving such an important milestone in her life. “I’m six years sober today. Thank you God,” she wrote, alongside a cake, praying hands and heart emojis.

Lala’s friends reacted to the comments of the post, where they left her their congratulations and best wishes. "God bless," The Real Housewives of New Jerseys Melissa Gorga, wrote, accompanied by two red heart emojis.

“Congratulations on 6 years!” » commented Tom Sandoval. “So proud of you!!”

But Lala didn’t do it just being able to celebrate the big day with her daughters. Scheana Shay, Lala’s best friend, took Lala out to dinner Tuesday night and wrote her the sweetest, most heartfelt message about her sixth anniversary of sobriety on Instagram.

“Words aren’t enough to truly express how proud I am of you!” Scheana wrote on her Instagram post. “You weren’t always easy, but you always managed to show your daughters how hard work pays off. You are SO strong and I’m so proud to be your friend. I will always be there for you and your family.

“Scheash,” Lala wrote in the repost. “I love you. Thank you.”

The dynamic duo then went to eat at Mediterranean and Italian inspired tapas restaurant, Bacari, who wished Lala a happy birthday, before blowing out a candle on her dessert. “Ilysm,” Scheana captioned the photo, adding the words “sober 6” over it.

Lala’s journey to sobriety began in 2018, shortly after her father’s death, when she began using alcohol as a form of “medicine rather than celebration.” “It’s the proudest thing I’ve ever done, other than becoming a mother,” Lala said on her third anniversary of sobriety in 2021.

“My first priority is always my sobriety,” she continued. “That comes first because without that I’m of no use.”

In an interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet in October 2023, Lala admitted to having an “obsession” with her sobriety. “I revisit my background, remembering why I chose to get sober, and then I look at my life and realize that I owe my sobriety to being here,” she said. “That alone is enough to keep me sober.”
