Norfolk SPCA implores community not to abandon pets outside of facilities

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Norfolk SPCA is pleading with people who want to surrender their pets to bring them inside their facility.

The adoption center said: in a post on social networks, that recently they found animals abandoned outside their establishment.

“Over the past two days, we have separately discovered two mothers – one with three newborns and another in labor – as well as another kitten, all abandoned in closed boxes on the side of the road, proximity to closed areas”, we can read on Facebook.

The animals were found by chance and could have fallen victim to the side and rear doors.

The organization says this careless act puts lives at risk and asks people to “think about the consequences”.
