A giant inflatable pumpkin “attacks” a police officer who tries to tear it down

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) – An out-of-control Halloween protest in Ohio caused problems for a police officer who was trying to deal with it.

Dashcam footage shows a Bay Village police officer attempting to move a giant 15-foot inflatable pumpkin that had flown out of a yard and into the street.

The Bay Village Police Department said the officer was dispatched to the area of Wolf Road and Saddler Road in the early hours of Oct. 14 after someone called the “runaway pumpkin.”

“Oh yeah, I see it,” the officer says in the dashcam footage.

As the officer walks towards the pumpkin, it is blown in his direction, appearing to swallow him whole.

For a few moments, the dashcam footage is completely blocked by the pumpkin as it is slammed into the officer’s car. Shortly after, the policeman reappears from below.

“It’s official, it’s going to be difficult to move,” the officer said.

Eventually, with the help of another officer, the inflatable display was moved off the roadway and into a courtyard.

“Fortunately, no officers (or pumpkins) were injured during the event,” police confirmed.
