Attack on N. Chandrababu Naidu’s house, TDP central office: files sent to CID

The state government has reportedly handed over files related to the attack on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office and then Opposition Leader N. Chandrababu Naidu to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Currently, the Mangalagiri and Tadepalli police are investigating the two cases.

The Mangalagiri police have registered cases against 110 people for allegedly attacking the TDP central office, located at Atmakur village in Mangalagiri mandal, in October 2021.

Leaders of the TDP and YSR Congress Party clashed outside the residence of the then Leader of Opposition and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in September 2021.

The protesters allegedly pelted stones at Mr. Naidu’s house, which created tension in Undavalli. The Tadepalli police have registered a complaint regarding the incident.

Cases have been registered against the accused on various charges including trespassing, theft, attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy and other charges.

Police arrested a few accused in the two cases, including former MP Nandigam Suresh and former minister Jogi Ramesh’s supporters, MLCs Lella Appireddy and Talasila Raghuram and other leaders. The Guntur police were questioning the accused in both the cases.

Meanwhile, the state government has reportedly handed over both the cases to the CID police for further investigation.

“Case diaries and other documents related to the two cases will soon be handed over to CID officials for further investigation,” said a police officer on Sunday (October 13, 2024).
