Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video Director Raaj Shaandilyaa Apologizes for ‘Unauthorized’ Use of Stree 2 Content After Being Heavily Trolled: Bollywood News

Newly released Rajkummar Rao with Triptii Dimri Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Videodespite its “clean” 90s comedies, came under the scanner for a completely different reason. The film faced backlash after taking content from the hit horror comedy. Street 2 which also featured Rao with Shraddha Kapoor. Now, after trolls started massively targeting the comedy set in the 90s, filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa took to social media to issue an apology statement.

On Saturday, October 12, Raaj Shaandilyaa and the entire team of producers of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video took to social media platform Stree content 2. “I Raaj Shaandilyaa, the director of the film “Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video” on behalf of myself and Super Cassettes Ind. Pvt. Ltd., Balaji Motion Pictures and Wakaoo Films, the producers of the film, sincerely and unconditionally apologize for the unauthorized use of characters and dialogues from Maddock Films’ ‘Stree’ franchise in our film. We deeply regret any harm caused to Maddock Films and its franchise as a result of this offense,” its statement read.

The statement continued: “We are taking immediate steps to rectify the issue and are in the process of removing any infringing content from our film in which we have used Maddock Films character and dialogues “Stree”. as soon as possible. We will endeavor to complete this process by Tuesday, October 15, 2024, to the complete satisfaction of Maddock Films. We are also committed to ensuring that no such unauthorized use occurs in the future. » “We further confirm that our film “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” is in no way associated with Maddock Films, their “Stree” and “Stree 2” franchises, or any of the characters featured therein . Furthermore, we do not claim any intellectual property rights over ‘Stree’, ‘Stree 2’ or any associated characters,” he concludes.

Meanwhile, Maddock Films expressed gratitude to the makers for the apology note as well as assurance that this would not be repeated. Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video also stars Mallika Sherawat, Tiku Talsania, Archana Puran Singh, Vijay Raaz among others in key roles and will hit theaters on October 11.
