Donald Trump makes the smallest jealous complaint about Barack Obama

Donald Trump complained Thursday that he doesn’t have a Nobel Peace Prize, but his fellow ex-President Barack Obama unfairly does. (Watch the video below.)

Obama won it in 2009 “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people,” according to the Nobel Prize website.

During a campaign stop in Detroit, the Republican candidate complained about perceived divisiveness while saying he wasn’t playing “politics” for the honor.

He touted the Abraham Accords reached under his administration to normalize relations between Israel and some Arab countries. Then he took a detour through his jealousy.

“If my name was Obama, I would have received the Nobel Prize in 10 seconds,” he said. “He received the Nobel Prize. He didn’t even know why he got it. Remember, he was elected. Well me too. He was elected and they announced that he was going to receive the Nobel Prize. … He received the Nobel Prize for having done nothing, for having been elected, but I was elected too.”

The lack of a Nobel Peace Prize has been a recurring problem for Trump, who has been nominated several times. (Thousands of people are eligible to nominate candidates; Trump was nominated twice by the same far-right Norwegian politician.)

Trump called the deal “unprecedented” and suggested he should have received the prestigious award for it.

“I’m just saying if it was anyone else, liberal or Democrat, they would have had it before the damn thing was even signed,” he said.

“I don’t go into politics for that,” he added. “I’m just saying there’s a lot of injustice in this world.”
