Rippie pleads not guilty in burglary/murder case – Bail not reduced – News/Talk KRMS

A Springfield man charged with second-degree murder and burglary as an alleged co-defendant in last week’s reported burglary that ended in the death of the other suspect, appears in a county courtroom Thursday from Camden.

Sergeant Scott Hines says the other suspect, Derek Wayman, was shot and killed by a resident of the property along North Highway 7 when he and Austin Rippe allegedly stole items from the property.

Rippe was able to flee the scene and the ensuing investigation tracked him to Springfield where he was recovered.

Rippe pleaded not guilty during his first appearance Thursday to request a bond modification.

Bail was not reduced and remains at $250,000 with GPS tracking required if Rippe is able to post bail. His next court date is Tuesday, October 15.th.
