ROCHESTER — A 38-year-old Rochester man wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants was taken into custody after a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle, according to New Hampshire State Police.

At 8:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, an Epping Police Department officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Route 125, police said. The driver accelerated and continued north, police said, adding that a chase began.

As state troopers joined the pursuit in the area of ​​the intersection of Route 125 and Route 9 in Barrington, police said they learned the fleeing vehicle had invalid license plates and matched the description of a stolen vehicle wanted in connection with a burglary involving the theft. of firearms.

After pursuing the vehicle on various roads in the Strafford County area, officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device on the Spaulding Turnpike Connector in Rochester, where the driver and another occupant were taken into custody , with the help of the police.

Donald Nisbet, 38, of Rochester, was arrested as a fugitive from justice and charged with reckless driving with a deadly weapon, receiving stolen property, felon in possession of a deadly weapon, as well as misdemeanor disobedience to an officer, aggravated conduct. under the influence and operating after (subsequent) suspension. Nisbet was also cited for violations including reckless driving and improper use of plates, and was found to have several warrants out for his arrest, including for charges related to theft and a violation of free on bail, police said.

The case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible. Nisbet was scheduled to appear in Rochester District Court on Wednesday. It was not immediately known whether he had an attorney.

Multiple agencies were involved in the chase and assisted the troopers, including the Epping Police Department, Lee Police Department, Barrington Police Department, Rochester Police Department, Farmington Police Department and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
