Sporty, technical and imposing: a selection of well-equipped watches

The technical piece, imposing and sporty, is a major achievement in contemporary watchmaking. It accompanied the rebirth of the industry in the 1990s in the same way as the grand complication, and served as a propellant in the 2000s. However, it exploded like a proboscidian into a factory. Having fun with the rigid principles of traditional watches, but without denigrating them, quite the contrary. Following the example of Audemars Piguet, which largely contributed to opening up this segment and attracting younger customers since 1993, with the launch of the Royal Oak Offshore. But we don’t break dad’s codes with impunity. Even if their success continues, these wrist instruments still carry their weight in nicknames: tanks, potatoes or even pucks.
