Man Bought a ‘Dead’ Tesla for ,100, But Used Clever Tweaks to Quickly Double Its Value – News

It seems like everyone is managing to get their hands on cheap Teslas right now.

We heard about the teen who flipped not one but two Teslas total for his mom and dad, saving them thousands of dollars.

But now there’s a new kid on the block… while he’s definitely not a kid and definitely not new, he’s been uploading car videos to his YouTube channel, Samcrac, for 11 years.

I was still in high school when the content creator was recording footage of his flashy 2006 Porsche Cayman S – and the year’s son, 18-year-old Winston Pemberton, would have been in primary school.

Yes, Sam is far from new and he knows his way around driving and negotiating after purchasing an older generation Tesla model SP90D, created before 2017, for just $10,100.

There must be a reason why someone would be willing to sell an engine for less than half its retail value? Well, the previous owner thought his EV was “dead” – I mean, you and I probably would have thought the same thing.

If the mechanics can’t fix it by taking it to a garage, what else can you do? Really pawn it.

But Sam, a master of his craft who has nearly 1.5 million subscribers on the streaming platform, knows a thing or two about motors – or should I say, batteries.

The reason he got it at a discounted price was because he couldn’t even get into the vehicle…and remember earlier I said you and I wouldn’t have been able to repair it, I’ll take it back.

It was as simple as putting it in rice, actually, no, because it would involve an incredible amount of effort – all the trips to the supermarket and then you have to empty it all into a container around the Tesla and refill it. up – we’re talking hours.

I’m sure a YouTuber will do this now if they haven’t already.

Either way, all he had to do was press the unlock button on the key twice. I mean, come on! It must pay to be hot-headed, because I would constantly push that button, frustrated at not being able to get in the car.

Once inside, the next step was simply to contact Tesla to associate the electric motor with his account – the only thing he had to do was provide them with proof that he owned the vehicle.

And Bob is your uncle… it’s over, bada-bing-bad-boom.

So, for just $10,100, he got an older version of the popular Tesla Model S.

Bargain hunter of the year?
