Epsom: teenager who stole cars from driveways sentenced

A Surrey teenager who stole two cars from their driveway has been sentenced.

Stanley Newell, 18, of Burnhams Grove, Epsom, was arrested following a police chase on July 3, after he broke into a house in Ewell and stole the keys to a Ford Focus.

Following his arrest, investigators were able to link him to another car theft in Epsom the previous week.

Newell was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court to a total sentence of 25 months and he will be detained for 16 months in a young offenders institution before serving the remainder of his sentence in a prison.
