Footage of the incident shows a security guard, Ezhumalai, stopping a family from taking their car into a no-parking zone. At first, they engage in a verbal argument. However, moments later, the people inside the car, apparently a group of tourists, get out to confront Ezhumalai.

Immediately after getting out of the vehicle, a woman starts slapping Ezhumalai. She is soon joined by three other people – a woman and two men. They slapped and beat him mercilessly. At one point, they snatch Ezhumalai’s stick and beat him. Eventually, some spectators save him after hearing his screams.

According to The Hindu, Ezhumalai filed a complaint against the tourists and three of them were arrested.

Journalist R Sivaraman shared the video on prohibited. I hope the Mamallapuram police will take action on seeing this. He further tagged the official X-pages of Tamil Nadu Police and Chengalpattu District Police.

The video went viral with several likes and views. This further prompted people to post varied reactions.

Social media notes:

“The whole family appears to be in a serious mental health condition and needs immediate rehabilitation and the first lady who started beating the man needs shock treatment, prison and then treatment alternating shock. Others are expected to be imprisoned after rehab. This is completely unacceptable. What absurdity are we witnessing? I hope the police act quickly,” posted an outraged X user. Another added: “They should be behind bars!” Whatever the problem, they have absolutely no right to mistreat the security manager! »

A third commented: “The whole family seems to have anger issues… needing rehab.” » A fourth wrote: “Although the fault is on both sides, physical exchanges should have been avoided by passengers (seems to be informed). Furthermore, whoever filmed the video did not even attempt to stop the physical violence.

According to the media outlet, two suspects are identified as S Prabhu Inbadass, 41, and K Keerthana, 29, of Mudichur. The third suspect, Shanmuga Priya, 38, hails from Maraimalai Nagar. Her husband is on the run.
