Robert Roberson will testify virtually on Monday

AUSTIN, Texas (KLTV) – Robert Roberson is expected to testify virtually before a Texas House committee on Monday.

A statement from the Texas Attorney General’s Office, representing the Department of Criminal Justice, said authorities intended to “make Robert Roberson available to testify… pursuant to the subpoena… via Zoom “. The decision is in the interest of public safety and Roberson’s well-being, authorities said.

The hearing will be streamed online and open to the public. It is unclear whether the Texas House committee will reverse this decision.

This update follows the Texas Supreme Court’s order Thursday evening to stay Roberson’s execution. He was convicted of the death of his young daughter in 2003 and has long maintained his innocence.
