Yahya Sinwar’s wife spotted with Birkin bag in Gaza tunnels: report

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s wife was allegedly seen fleeing through a Gaza tunnel with a Birkin bag worth $32,000 hours before the October 7 massacre, Israeli officials said.

Sinwar, 61, and his wife Abu Zamar – holding what appears to be a super luxurious Hermès bag – can be seen helping their two young sons through the narrow bunker corridor at 10:45 p.m. on October 6, 2023 , time-stamped images released by the Israel Defense Forces show Saturday.

“Even though the people of Gaza do not have money to feed themselves, we see many examples of Yahya Sinwar and his wife’s special love for money,” said the IDF spokesperson, Avichay Adraee. written on Xalongside a screenshot of the woman holding what appeared to be a expensive black leather handbag.

The October 7 mastermind married Abu Zamar in 2011, just weeks after he was released from an Israeli prison following a prisoner exchange.

The footage shows Sinwar – the mastermind behind the October 7 attacks – made several trips through the tunnel to collect belongings, packets of bottled water and pillows.

The video was discovered a few months ago by Israeli forces.

The Israeli army had been tracking Sinwar since the attacks on October 7, 2023, and finally eliminated the leader on Wednesday. Soldiers discovered his body while searching through rubble following an airstrike in Tel al-Sultan.

Sinwar had an estimated net worth of three billion dollars and was found with $10,000 in cash and a United Relations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) teacher’s ID on his body after his death.

After Sinwar’s assassination, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his death would mark a turning point in the year-long war between Israel and Hamas. Hamas officials, however, said the death would only strengthen the group.
