Two dead, one seriously injured in two-vehicle crash at Wamuran, north of Brisbane

Two members of the same family have died and another is seriously injured after an accident on Sunday in Moreton Bay, north of Brisbane.

Police said a vehicle traveling west on the D’Aguilar to Wamuran Highway crossed onto the wrong side of the road, colliding with another vehicle at around 3pm AEST.

Two passengers in the eastbound vehicle were killed and the driver was seriously injured.

She was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Police say all three were related.

The driver of the second vehicle was arrested and taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

“The driver of the westbound vehicle was arrested for dangerous driving,” Inspector Craig White said.

He said an off-duty paramedic joined first responders to help.

“The paramedics did a fantastic job trying to save these people and I know an off-duty paramedic also attended the scene at that time, also assisting,” Inspector White said.

He is calling on anyone who witnessed the accident to contact the police.

“If there are any witnesses to the crash or anyone has dash cam footage, please contact Crimestoppers and let us know as their evidence may be crucial to this case.”
