Lip reader on what King Charles said to Harry before leaving palace party | Royal | News

Shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married in a lavish ceremony in Windsor, they attended a summer garden party for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday at Buckingham Palace on May 22, 2018.

But video footage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quickly leaving the garden party has been released, sparking speculation about what could have led to this.

A professional lip reader examined the footage and revealed what the monarch actually said to her youngest son that day, and stressed there was “definitely no angst”.

The lip reader told MailOnline that a member of staff initially explained to Harry that he had been “called”.

Harry’s father then said to his youngest son: “We’re going now.” We have to go,” to which Harry replied, “Go.”

Charles goes on to say, “We’re going to go now…see you later.”

The Duke of Sussex adds: “Yes, catch up…after.”

At the party at Buckingham Palace, the Sussexes were seen chatting with guests, with Meghan Markle at one point admiring a woman’s necklace and receiving a gift from her, which she then transmitted to an assistant.

But during their interactions with the public, Harry was then approached by a member of the royal staff, who appears to tell the prince that his father wants to speak to him.

Charles gently conveys the message, placing a hand on his son’s arm. Camilla is then seen approaching to kiss Harry and Meghan on the cheek, before quickly continuing.

Charles, Camilla, Harry and Meghan met several of the 6,000 people invited by his patronages and military associations. A number of guests from police, fire, ambulance, mountain rescue and the RNLI also attended the garden party.

At the event, Harry also gave a speech during which he said: “You have inspired William and I, and looking here today, it is clear that we are not alone. You have created an incredible body of work that has, and will continue to make a huge difference in the lives of so many. »

Less than two years later, Harry and Meghan had said goodbye to royal life itself and moved to California, where they are raising their two young children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

Prince Harry is believed to have last seen his father in February 2024, when he flew to the UK after the king publicly announced his cancer diagnosis.

King Charles’ youngest son met his father at Clarence House where his meeting reportedly lasted just 45 minutes, before Harry left the premises.

King Charles and Queen Camilla landed in Australia on Friday, marking the start of the couple’s first visit to the country since becoming reigning monarch.

The king will reportedly be accompanied by two doctors on his 17th visit to Australia after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. He will also travel with a supply of his own blood, according to the Times.
