Reward offered for information after 2 injured in southwest Miami-Dade shooting

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Florida. – Miami-Dade and Florida Keys Crime Stoppers offered a cash reward Friday after police confirmed a shooting injured a teenager and another individual in southwest Miami-Dade earlier this week.

It happened Tuesday evening in the Cutler Manor apartment area along the 10000 block of Southwest 216th Street.

Police say officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and found a 17-year-old man who had been shot. Authorities have not released any information about the second victim involved in the shooting.

Miami-Dade firefighters responded and transported the teen to Jackson South Medical Center in stable condition, authorities said.

On Wednesday, police said more than 20 bullet holes were visible in a metal fence and two cars were found hit by bullets. One of the vehicles appears to have been struck more than 10 times.

Authorities said the culprit(s) fired approximately 13 shots toward an apartment building and was driving a light-colored sedan at the time of the incident.

Neighbors say shootings are too common in the area.

“More than 30. I would say it was like a machine gun,” one resident told Local 10 News the day after the shooting.

Detectives attended the crime scene Wednesday evening to recover shell casings, but no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

Police did not release the teen’s identity but confirmed he was in stable condition Wednesday evening.

Anyone with information regarding the culprit(s) is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 or 866-471-8477.

If the information leads to one or more arrests, the tipster may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00. All calls remain strictly anonymous.
