Doctor’s license suspended, accused of committing sexual acts in front of staff

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT/Gray News) – A doctor’s license in Arkansas has been suspended following allegations he had sexual contact and relations with a patient.

According to the Arkansas State Medical Board, it has suspended David Diffine’s medical license.

Earlier this week, the board issued an emergency suspension order accusing Dr. Diffine of violations of the Medical Practice Act and board regulations.

According to the order, Diffine had “sexual contact, sexual relations or a romantic relationship with a patient.”

In July, the commission received a complaint that Diffine “had sexual contact with and sexually harassed his staff, who were also his patients.”

According to the order, the complaint included security camera video showing the alleged sexual conduct and harassment.

“The video shows, among other things, Dr. Diffine performing a sexual act on a staff member while other staff members were present and watching,” the order states. “The video also shows Dr. Diffine walking around the clinic naked.”

In issuing the emergency suspension, the medical board said Diffine presented “an ongoing danger to the public in his continued practice of medicine.”

The board will hold a hearing Dec. 6 regarding the charges Diffine faces. If they find that he did in fact violate the Medical Practice Act, the board could decide to revoke or suspend his license to practice in the state of Arkansas.

Diffin’s license lists its main office in Blytheville. Its website lists other offices in Bono and Paragould.

This is the second time that Diffine’s license has been suspended.

In 2017, the state medical board temporarily suspended his license for prescribing an “excessive amount” of medication to his patients. The commission later dismissed the charges after finding no evidence of the allegations.
