Two city men arrested for domestic violence in separate incidents

What started as a “stupid argument” allegedly escalated into a full-scale assault, a female victim reluctantly told Lycoming Regional Police when she responded to an address in the 1900 block of Princeton Avenue on Oct. 13, according to an affidavit.

The alleged victim, with a black and blue eye and other fresh bruises on his forehead, was afraid of the alleged attacker, Francis José Nery, 37, and initially refused to answer police questions. She later told police that Nery was angry because she wouldn’t let him in, according to court documents.

The alleged victim as well as neighbors interviewed by police said Nery knocked on the back door of the residence before walking to the front door, then leaving upon learning that police were on their way.

A neighbor said the banging was so loud it sounded like there was a knock on the door and the front door of the home appeared to be almost completely broken in, authorities say.

Nery had initially fled the scene, but returned shortly after police left and continued to knock on the door.

Upon returning to the residence, officers noted the presence of a 2023 Jeep Cherokee which was not present during their previous visit.

Nery smelled of alcohol, had glossy eyes and was repeating himself excessively, police said.

Nery told police he had only consumed one beer. He was argumentative throughout his interview with police and had difficulty understanding the officers’ instructions, authorities said.

Arraigned on charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and driving while intoxicated by District Judge William Solomon, Nery was booked into the Lycoming County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

In another case, when city police arrived at a residence in the 700 block of West Third Street, they found a woman with several recent injuries to her face, neck and upper chest, according to reports. court documents.

Although she initially told police the injuries were caused by a fall, the alleged victim later said the injuries were caused by Dontay James Gulledge, 22, of 761 W. Third St., even if she was scared and reluctant to give details, according to court documents.

“I will kill you and your family,” Gulledge told the alleged victim, according to a witness who heard the incident, who also said he heard what he thought was the alleged victim being hit multiple times, authorities said.

Gulledge had a swollen right hand, which police said was consistent with a blow to an individual’s head.

District Judge Christian Frey arraigned Gulledge on charges of terroristic threats, common assault and harassment. He was booked into the Lycoming County Jail on $75,000 bail.

Lewisburg resident charged with hit-and-run

A victim suffered a broken neck after being struck by a motor vehicle believed to be driven by Alec Matthew Reed, 22, of 2945 Westbranch Highway, Lewisburg, just after 3 a.m. Oct. 13, according to County Police. city.

Several witnesses interviewed separately by police said a vehicle driven by Reed drove down an unnamed alley at a high rate of speed, estimated at 45 to 60 mph until it reached a dead end, at which point it turned around. -round. , striking the alleged victim, an affidavit states.

Reed then fled the scene at a high speed, witnesses told police, according to TMO court documents.

He was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another by District Judge Christian Frey and booked into the Lycoming County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. .

Man arrested for attempted car theft

Reginald Cashmere Eddins, 22, faces several charges following an alleged attempt to steal a vehicle from the parking lot of a convenience store in the 100 block of Maynard Street around 9 a.m. Oct. 10, according to a affidavit.

An alleged victim said that as he was leaving the store, Eddins was in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, backing him up to exit the stand, authorities said.

When the owner approached, Eddins stopped the vehicle and a physical altercation ensued during which the alleged victim was struck multiple times with a closed fist, authorities allege in court documents.

Eddins was arraigned by District Judge Christian Frey on charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, common assault, disorderly conduct and harassment, and was taken into custody remanded to the Lycoming County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
